Senior Manager, Impact Investing

Robynn works to catalyze the growth and effectiveness of the global impact investing industry in her role at Omidyar Network. She is driven by a passion for expanding opportunity for the global poor through technology, innovation, and market-based solutions.

Prior to joining the firm, Robynn spent six years in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where she led efforts to accelerate the Administration’s global development goals through emerging market impact investments.  She led the launch of Beyond the Grid under President Obama’s Power Africa initiative, mobilizing 27 private sector partners to invest over $1 billion in distributed energy solutions across Africa.  She also worked closely with USAID, OPIC, the U.S. Treasury, and State Department to increase emerging market entrepreneurs’ access to early-stage risk capital, scale digital financial services, and accelerate the Administration’s use of incentive prizes.  Prior to the White House, Robynn served as deputy chair of the Clinton Global Initiative Education Working Group where she forged multi-sector partnerships, including commitments that delivered school nutrition and deworming programs to 20 million children in over 30 countries. As the first Executive Director of Universities Allied for Essential Medicines and member of its inaugural Board, Robynn raised seed funds, recruited its first staff, and led its advocacy to expand global access to university-developed medicines. The nonprofit now spans more than 100 top research institutions, serving as a preeminent training ground for the next generation of global health talent. Robynn has also worked on the ground in India, South Africa, and Tanzania, including leading a 35-member team to conduct a household survey on water access across the slums of Mumbai.

Robynn received her J.D. from Yale Law School and holds a B.A. and an M.A. in political science from Yale University.
